Accountability
Our ultimate authority is Jesus Christ. Thus, we are accountable first and foremost to Him. However, we believe the authority to commission and send missionaries into the world has historically been done within the context of the local church. We believe the men sent to proclaim the gospel must be elder-qualified and held accountable to this standard. They are to be men of integrity using the spiritual gifts and physical resources God has given them for the furthering of His kingdom. The gifts we are given are to be used for the benefit of the body of Christ primarily. We believe the encouraging and equipping of fellow believers happens best within the context of the local church. This is not to say God does not send many to far countries untouched by the gospel to which no churches exist. But it is to say, where the local church exists, we have a duty and responsibility to serve in it with the specific gifts God has given us, evangelism included.
We have recently planted a church in Lexington, OR (small-town in eastern Oregon). Lexington Reformed Baptist Church was born June 6, 2021. I serve there as pastor and lead evangelist. In Andrew’s Steps Ministries operates under the authority of that local church.
